EHCA’s mission is to provide a healthy, drug free, safe, and secure environment within which we provide treatment and education services that focus on changing addictive and criminal behaviors. We provide our participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a productive lifestyle prior to reintegration into their communities.
EHCA’s current programs and services were established with the goal of making treatment programs accessible to criminal justice populations. These programs reduce recidivism through life-skills training, substance abuse treatment, and educational and vocational training that is suited to the specific needs of program participants.

Special Services Representative
The Special Services Representative position is responsible for the development and implementation of a new Pre-Release Educational Program (PREP), an innovative instructor-led in-prison financial and workforce readiness program servicing incarcerated persons within 365 days of release. This is a grant funded initiative position. Employment and/or continued employment is dependent upon grant funding availability.
Reentry Support Specialist
The Reentry Support Specialist position is responsible for the development and implementation of a new community-based Emergency Rapid Re-Housing Assistance (ERRA) Program, providing short-term emergency housing assistance resources and services to currently and recently incarcerated individuals in the Newark, New Jersey Metro Area, including Essex, Morris, Hudson, and Union Counties. This is a grant funded initiative position. Employment and/or continued employment is dependent upon grant funding availability.
