Veteran Resource Program

In an effort to expand access to veteran services and resources throughout the state of New Jersey, Education & Health Centers of America, Inc. (EHCA) sought funding from the state legislature in order to develop and implement a Veteran Resource Program to address the unmet needs of the veteran population throughout the state.

Education & Health Centers of America, Inc.’s (EHCA’s) Veteran Resource Program (VRP) provides direct support services to veterans in need throughout the state of New Jersey, such as:

  • Emergency Housing Hotel Vouchers
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Rental and Housing Assistance
  • Utilities Assistance
  • Home Furnishing Assistance
  • Transportation Resources
  • Supplemental Clothing and Hygiene Care Packages

In addition to direct support services, Veteran Resource Program staff connect veterans with other collaborative referral resources in the community, such as:

  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Programs and Benefits
  • Mental Health/Behavioral Health Referrals
  • Medical and Healthcare Referrals
  • Employment Opportunities
  • Educational and Vocational Training Opportunities
  • New Jersey State Programs and Resources

The mission of the Veteran Resource Program (VRP) is to identify and address the unmet needs of veterans throughout the state of New Jersey through a direct service support model, with a focus on sustained housing for veterans in need.

Eligibility

  • Veteran (Any Discharge Status)
  • Demonstrated Need for Support Services
  • Completed Program Application
  • Residence within the State of New Jersey

 

Eligibility for various monetary assistance programs will be determined on a case by case basis, by service delivery area, veteran status, employment status, and homelessness/risk of homelessness status.

Veteran Resource Program Enrollment Process:

STEP 1:

Veteran Resource Program staff strive to provide same day enrollment services.

STEP 2:

Enrollments are conducted in-person or via teleconference to ensure all eligible veterans have access to our services.

STEP 3:

In-person enrollments are conducted in the community, based upon the location of the veteran.

STEP 4:

Enrollments are completed in a client-centered, equitable, and impartial manner with a case management approach.

STEP 5:

During the enrollment process, veterans are assessed one-on-one to ensure each individual’s unique needs are met through various support service outlets.
