EHCA Expands Mission Statement to Serve At-Risk and Under-Served Populations

Hot off the press! Education and Health Centers of America, Inc. (EHCA) has officially updated its mission statement to reflect an expanded commitment to addressing the needs of veterans and those experiencing housing insecurity during the reentry process in the state of New Jersey. The mission statement underscores EHCA’s dedication to providing essential services to at-risk and under-served populations. This update highlights their recent expansion of veteran support programs and the introduction of an Emergency Rapid Re-housing Assistance program (in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Corrections, NJLEAD initiative).

The new mission statement reads: “Education and Health Centers of America, Inc.’s (EHCA) mission is to provide services to at-risk and under-served populations, including, but not limited to, individuals reentering the community from the criminal justice system, veterans in need, and those dealing with substance use issues.” This change signals a broader scope of services and a deepened focus on holistic support for vulnerable communities. These updates align with the organization’s core values of rehabilitation and community reintegration.

EHCA’s expanded Veteran Resource Program aims to provide targeted assistance, including increased case management, access to community resources, gap services support, and housing stabilization. Recognizing the unique challenges many veterans face upon returning to civilian life, these programs are designed to foster stability and resilience. The Emergency Rapid Re-housing Assistance program is similarly aimed at bridging critical gaps in the safety net for individuals facing homelessness upon release from incarceration, offering temporary housing resources, case management, and housing navigation services with the goal of securing long-term, sustainable housing in the community.

We believe this updated mission reflects EHCA’s ongoing efforts to meet the evolving needs of our community. By broadening the scope of our services, we hope to create pathways to stability and success for those who need it most.
