Education and Health Centers of America, Inc. (EHCA) hosted a Military Appreciation Luncheon on May 17, 2024, at Home For The Brave, a community-based veteran transitional housing program in Camden, New Jersey.
Home For The Brave is a 30 bed, low demand, transitional housing program for single, male veterans. Eligible veterans may reside at Home For The Brave for up to two years. While there, veterans are able to work on recovery, employment, and independent living skills. Home For The Brave has served as a key partner to EHCA’s Incarcerated Veteran Initiative (IVI)—namely, in providing transitional housing opportunities to IVI’s recently incarcerated veterans.
The Military Appreciation Luncheon was organized to honor veterans and past military service members residing at the facility, providing them with a day of recognition for their selfless service to the nation. EHCA also presented an award to the Program Director of Home For The Brave, recognizing the program’s dedication to providing housing and community-based services to at-risk veterans since 2012.
Throughout the luncheon, Home For The Brave’s veteran residents shared their personal stories, offering insights into their experiences and the crucial role that Home For The Brave has played in their recovery and reintegration into the community. Attendees expressed their gratitude to EHCA and Home For The Brave for organizing such a meaningful event, reinforcing the bonds between the local community and its veterans. Thank you to all who contributed to this event!
