EHCA Recognizes Kellyann Bishop-Siland for Exceptional Emergency Housing Support Services

Education and Health Centers of America, Inc. (EHCA) recently recognized Ms. Kellyann Bishop-Siland, who serves as the Reentry Support Specialist for EHCA’s Emergency Rapid Rehousing Assistance Program (ERRA), for her outstanding dedication and execution of the new initiative. During EHCA’s recent staff meeting, Ms. Bishop-Siland was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for her pivotal role in pioneering the new NJLEAD ERRA program, which has successfully placed numerous formerly incarcerated individuals into temporary emergency housing, while working together to navigate and establish long-term housing options upon release.

In her capacity as the Reentry Support Specialist, Ms. Bishop-Siland has become a lifeline for individuals who have maxed out or paroled from New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) custody without a viable housing plan. By swiftly securing safe, temporary, emergency housing prior to an individual’s release from custody, the program has helped participants transition back into the community with a sense of stability, significantly reducing the risk of homelessness and recidivism. Ms. Bishop-Siland’s commitment to ensuring each individual receives comprehensive reentry support has been a driving force behind the program’s success.

EHCA’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard McCourt, highlighted Ms. Bishop-Siland’s hands-on approach, highlighting her ability to coordinate housing placements efficiently and navigate complex reentry barriers. Ms. Bishop-Siland’s dedication has resulted in meaningful second chances and foundations for success in the community upon release from custody.

Ms. Bishop-Siland’s efforts reflect EHCA’s broader mission to support at-risk and under-served populations, including individuals reentering society, by recognizing and addressing critical needs. The ERRA program has strengthened EHCA’s partnerships with housing providers and community organizations, further expanding opportunities for those in need. Ms. Bishop-Siland’s work ensures that the program remains both efficient and impactful, setting a high standard for emergency rapid rehousing services in New Jersey.

With her continued efforts, the ERRA program is expected to continue to grow and evolve, helping even more individuals secure stable housing and rebuild their lives post-incarceration. EHCA is proud to have dedicated professionals like Kellyann Bishop-Siland driving its mission forward.
